Our lab has made good progress in organizing and coming up with our respective areas of focus on the group level. We've found that generating game ideas in the realm of social cues is quite a challenge but, with the help of Orin Bishop, we've started to find some ways of synthesizing the aspect of gaming with education.
For the actual construction of our product, we've broken the lab into three large work committees: content creation, programming and testing. Content creation is tasked with generated all the needed graphics, videos, sounds, documentation and other pieces of content required for the construction of the product. Programming is responsible for making the interactive components designed by each lab group using the assets created by the content committee. Finally, but possibly most importantly, the testing committee. Testing ensures that all aspects of the final product meet a level of quality and do what they are supposed to. This ranges from the games and overall application working as expected to consistency in graphics and writing style.
All lab groups are making steady progress on their familiarization research. Each group will be delivering their presentation based on their area of focus within the greater umbrella of improving job prospects through better social skills. We plan to all have our individual game design documents with use cases and story-boarding ready for next Friday so we can begin construction.
